What Is the AI Concierge?

The AI Concierge is a smart booking assistant that lives on your public booking page. It can answer questions about your trips, availability, pricing, policies, and more — all in a natural, conversational way. Think of it as a knowledgeable front-desk agent who never takes a day off.

When a visitor lands on your booking page, the concierge is available as a chat widget. Anglers can ask questions like "What trips do you offer for beginners?" or "Do you have anything available this Saturday?" and get instant, accurate answers based on your actual trip data.

How It Knows Your Business

The concierge automatically learns from your trip listings, pricing, availability calendar, policies, and business description. You don't need to train it or write FAQ answers — it pulls from the data you've already entered in Guidewinds.

Enabling the Concierge

The AI Concierge is available on Professional plans and above. To turn it on:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Settings → Booking Page
  2. Scroll to the AI Concierge section
  3. Toggle "Enable AI Concierge" on
  4. Click "Save Changes"

Once enabled, the chat widget appears on your public booking page immediately. No code changes or embedding required.

Pro Tip

Visit your own booking page after enabling the concierge to see exactly what your anglers experience. Try asking it a few questions to make sure the answers match your expectations.

What the Concierge Can Do

The AI Concierge handles the most common questions anglers ask before booking:

  • Recommend trips: Suggests the best trip based on group size, experience level, or preferences
  • Check availability: Tells anglers which dates and times have openings
  • Explain pricing: Breaks down costs, deposits, and what's included
  • Answer policy questions: Cancellation rules, what to bring, weather policies, and more
  • Guide to booking: Walks anglers through the booking flow step by step
  • Handle multiple languages: Responds in the language the angler writes in

What It Won't Do

The concierge does not process payments, modify existing bookings, or access angler account information. It guides anglers to the right trip and answers questions, but the actual booking is completed through your standard booking flow.

Custom Prompt Configuration

On Enterprise plans, you can customize the concierge's personality and behavior with a custom system prompt. This lets you control:

  • Tone of voice: Casual and friendly, professional and formal, or somewhere in between
  • Upselling behavior: Whether to proactively suggest premium trips or add-ons
  • Specific talking points: Highlight seasonal specials, safety certifications, or unique selling points
  • Boundaries: Topics to avoid or redirect

To configure your custom prompt, go to Dashboard → Settings → Booking Page → AI Concierge → Custom Prompt.

Prompt Tips

Keep your custom prompt focused and specific. Instead of "be helpful," try "Always mention that we provide all gear and tackle at no extra cost" or "If asked about weather, mention our flexible rescheduling policy." The more concrete your instructions, the better the concierge performs.

Example Conversations

Here are some typical exchanges between anglers and the AI Concierge:

Finding the Right Trip

  • Angler: "I'm bringing my kids (ages 8 and 12). What do you recommend?"
  • Concierge: "Great choice bringing the family! I'd recommend the Half-Day Inshore Trip — it's our most popular option for families with younger kids. It's 4 hours, stays in calmer waters, and we provide all the gear. Would you like to check availability?"

Availability Check

  • Angler: "Do you have anything available next Saturday morning?"
  • Concierge: "Let me check... Yes! There are two morning slots open next Saturday: a 6 AM Offshore Trip and an 8 AM Inshore Trip. Which sounds better for your group?"

Policy Questions

  • Angler: "What happens if it rains?"
  • Concierge: "We monitor weather closely. If conditions are unsafe, we'll contact you to reschedule at no charge. Light rain usually doesn't affect the trip — and sometimes the best action is on overcast days!"

Monitoring Conversations

You can review all concierge conversations in Dashboard → Communications. Each conversation shows:

  • The full message history
  • Whether the angler went on to complete a booking
  • Any questions the concierge couldn't answer confidently
  • Timestamp and duration of the conversation

Look for Patterns

If the concierge frequently gets questions it can't answer well, that's a signal to update your trip descriptions or business policies. The concierge is only as good as the information you give it.

  • Professional: AI Concierge with standard behavior
  • Enterprise: Everything in Professional plus custom prompt configuration and priority response times
