Understanding Your Dashboard

Your dashboard is mission control for your charter. Here's how to navigate it and get the most out of every section.

Dashboard Overview

When you log in, you land on your Dashboard—the home base for managing your charter. It's designed to show you what matters most at a glance.

What You See First

The main dashboard page shows:

  • Today's Bookings: What's happening today
  • Upcoming Bookings: The next few days at a glance
  • Quick Stats: Key numbers for the current period
  • Recent Activity: New bookings, messages, etc.

Navigation Sidebar

The left sidebar (or bottom bar on mobile) is your main navigation. Here's what each section does:

Dashboard (Home)

Your overview page. Shows today's schedule, upcoming bookings, and key stats.

Calendar

Visual view of your schedule. See bookings on a monthly calendar, manage availability, and quickly understand your schedule at a glance.

Bookings

List of all your bookings—past, present, and future. Filter by status, date, or trip type. Click any booking to see details or make changes.

Trip Types

Manage your trips. Add new offerings, edit existing ones, set pricing, upload photos, and configure add-ons.

Anglers

Your angler database. See everyone who's booked with you, their contact info, booking history, and notes.

Analytics

Track your business performance. View revenue trends, booking statistics, confirmation rates, and trip performance. Select different time periods (7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or year) to analyze trends.

Settings

Configure everything about your account:

  • General: Business profile, contact info, logo
  • Checkout: Stripe connection, deposit settings
  • Booking Page: Customize your public booking page
  • Policies: Cancellation and weather policies
  • Team: Add staff members (if on a plan that supports it)
  • Subscription: Plan details, invoices, billing
  • Data: Import and export your data

The Dashboard Home Page

Today's Schedule

At the top, you'll see today's bookings (if any). Each card shows:

  • Time
  • Angler name
  • Trip booked
  • Party size
  • Payment status

Click any booking to see full details or take action.

Upcoming Bookings

Below today, you'll see the next 7 days of bookings. This helps you prepare for what's ahead.

Quick Stats

Numbers that matter:

  • Bookings this month: Total count
  • Revenue this month: Total payments received
  • Average booking value: Revenue divided by bookings
  • Occupancy rate: Percentage of available slots booked

Click for Details

Click any stat to see a detailed breakdown. For example, clicking revenue shows you which trips are bringing in the most money.

Recent Activity

A feed of what's happened recently:

  • New bookings
  • Cancellations
  • Customer messages
  • Payment received

Calendar View

What You See

The calendar shows a monthly view with color-coded indicators:

  • Green dots: Days with confirmed bookings
  • Gray/striped: Blocked dates
  • No indicator: Available (can be booked)

Interacting with the Calendar

  • Click a date: See bookings for that day or adjust availability
  • Click a booking: Open full details
  • Drag (on desktop): Reschedule a booking by dragging to a new date

Month Navigation

Use the arrows at the top to move between months. The "Today" button jumps back to the current date.


Anglers Section

Your Angler Database

Everyone who has booked with you appears in your Anglers section. For each angler, you can see:

  • Contact information (name, email, phone)
  • Booking history (past bookings)
  • Total spent
  • Notes you've added
  • Any upcoming bookings

Adding Notes

Keep track of preferences, special requests, or anything else:

  • "Prefers early morning starts"
  • "Regular customer, always brings own gear"
  • "Has young kids, needs child-friendly approach"

Notes are private—anglers never see them.

Build Relationships

Using notes effectively helps you provide personalized service.Anglers notice when you remember their preferences.

Payment Settings

  • Stripe connection status
  • Deposit percentage settings
  • Automatic balance collection

Booking Page Settings

Settings → Booking Page

  • Your booking page URL
  • Color theme customization
  • Embed code for your website
  • Social sharing image

Notification Settings

Settings → Notifications

  • Email templates (confirmation, reminder, follow-up)
  • Reminder timing (how far in advance)
  • SMS notifications (if enabled)
  • What-to-bring message

Availability Settings

Settings → Availability

  • Recurring weekly schedule
  • Advance booking window (how far ahead can book)
  • Minimum notice required
  • Buffer time between bookings

Mobile Experience

Guidewinds works on your phone. When you're on mobile:

  • Navigation moves to the bottom of the screen
  • Cards stack vertically
  • Same features, optimized for touch

Pro Tip

Bookmark the dashboard on your phone's home screen for quick access. On iPhone: tap Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android: tap Menu → Add to Home screen.

Troubleshooting

Dashboard isn't loading

  • Try refreshing the page
  • Clear your browser cache
  • Make sure you're connected to the internet
  • Try a different browser

Stats seem wrong

  • Stats are based on the selected time period (check the date filter)
  • Revenue only includes confirmed, paid bookings
  • Cancelled bookings are excluded

Can't find a booking

  • Use the search bar at the top
  • Check your filter settings (status, date range)
  • Try searching by confirmation number
