Your Guidewinds Subscription

Guidewinds uses simple, flat-rate monthly pricing. No per-booking fees, no hidden costs.

Finding Your Billing Page

Go to Dashboard → Settings → Billing

What You'll See

  • Current plan: Which plan you're on
  • Billing cycle: Monthly or annual
  • Next payment date: When you'll be charged next
  • Payment method: The card on file
  • Invoice history: Past payments

Understanding Our Plans

Visit our pricing page for current plans and features. Here's the general structure:

What's Included in Every Plan

  • Online booking page
  • Unlimited bookings
  • Payment processing via Stripe
  • Automated email confirmations and reminders
  • Calendar management
  • Angler database
  • Data export
  • Mobile-friendly dashboard

Higher Plans Include

  • Team member accounts
  • Advanced analytics
  • Custom branding
  • SMS notifications
  • Priority support
  • API access

No Per-Booking Fees

Unlike platforms that charge 6% of every booking, Guidewinds is a flat monthly rate. Whether you book 5 trips or 50, your Guidewinds fee stays the same.

Payment Processing Fees

There are two separate fees to understand:

Guidewinds Subscription

Your flat monthly or annual fee for using the platform. This is what you manage in your Billing settings.

Stripe Payment Processing

When anglers pay you, Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. This is Stripe's fee, not ours—it's standard for all payment processors.

Example:

  • Angler pays $500 for a trip
  • Stripe takes: $500 × 2.9% + $0.30 = $14.80
  • You receive: $485.20

Stripe fees are completely separate from your Guidewinds subscription.

Managing Your Payment Method

Updating Your Card

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click "Update Payment Method"
  3. Enter your new card details
  4. Save

Your new card will be charged on your next billing date.

What Happens If a Payment Fails

  1. We'll email you about the failed payment
  2. We'll retry the charge a few times over the next week
  3. If still failing, your account may be paused
  4. Update your card to restore access

Keep Your Card Updated

If your card expires or is replaced, remember to update it in Guidewinds. Failed payments can interrupt your service.

Viewing Invoices

Finding Your Invoices

Go to Settings → Billing → Invoice History

What's on Each Invoice

  • Date of payment
  • Plan name
  • Amount charged
  • Payment method used
  • Invoice number

Downloading Invoices

Click any invoice to view or download a PDF. Useful for business expense records and taxes.

Pro Tip

Set up a folder for your invoices. They're tax deductible as a business expense.

Changing Plans

Upgrading

  1. Go to Settings → Billing → Change Plan
  2. Select your new plan
  3. Confirm the upgrade

When you upgrade:

  • New features are available immediately
  • You're charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current billing period
  • Future billing reflects the new plan

Downgrading

  1. Go to Settings → Billing → Change Plan
  2. Select the lower plan
  3. Confirm the downgrade

When you downgrade:

  • You keep your current plan features until the end of the billing period
  • The new plan takes effect at your next billing date
  • Features not included in the new plan become unavailable

Data Is Preserved

Downgrading doesn't delete your data. All your bookings, anglers, and history are kept. You just lose access to premium features.

Monthly vs. Annual Billing

Monthly

  • Charged each month
  • Cancel anytime
  • Good for trying things out

Annual

  • Charged once per year
  • Usually 2 months free (compared to monthly)
  • Best value for committed users

Switching to Annual

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click "Switch to Annual"
  3. Confirm the change

You'll be charged the annual amount immediately, prorated for any unused time on your current monthly plan.

Cancelling Your Subscription

How to Cancel

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  3. Tell us why (optional but helpful)
  4. Confirm cancellation

What Happens When You Cancel

  • You keep access until the end of your current billing period
  • After that, your dashboard becomes read-only
  • Your booking page goes offline
  • Your data is preserved for 90 days (in case you come back)
  • After 90 days, data is permanently deleted

Reactivating

Changed your mind? Just log back in and reactivate from your Billing page. If within 90 days, all your data will be restored.

Export First

Before cancelling, use the data export feature to download your bookings and anglers records.

Free Trial

How the Trial Works

  • 14 days of full access to all features
  • No credit card required to start
  • You can accept real bookings during the trial
  • At the end, you choose a paid plan to continue

What Happens After the Trial

  • If you subscribe: Seamless continuation, no data lost
  • If you don't: Dashboard becomes read-only, booking page goes offline

We'll send reminders as your trial ends so you can decide without pressure.
